The story Behind 'Painting Stuff the Way I see it'

Kathy Guenkel painter

Over many years,Kathy has studiedhas dedicated herself to developing her craft and along putting many miles on the paintbrush, pencils, charcoal, etc… has studied with some well-known artists in Canada and the U.S. She was encouraged to show her work early on and has been doing so in juried shows, artists’ collectives, art fairs and online galleries. Her work is in collections in North America and abroad.

Kathy’s intensive study of classical drawing informs her present day emphasis on alla oil painting and its cousin, encaustic wax. She uses them to express her enchantment with ‘the everyday’. She currently conveys life the way she sees it in representational oil painting style as well as more intuitive compositions of mixed media and encaustic wax.

Her studio is located in Saugeen Shores
